How to cut off the black stems of roses and have a high survival rate?

Chinese rose flowers are beautiful in color. As long as the temperature is right, they can bloom every month, so they are also called moon red. Chinese rose is known as the "queen of flowers" because of its colorful, dignified and beautiful colors. The propagation of Chinese rose can be accomplished by cutting, dividing plants and layering. Common cutting. However, if the cutting method is not appropriate, the black stem of rose is easy to appear, which leads to the failure of cutting. As long as you learn some cutting methods, cutting can survive in summer, and it will bloom that year. So how to do it?

1 temperature of cut rose

Rose likes warm environment, and the suitable temperature for growing period is 15 to 26 degrees. Too high or too low temperature is not conducive to the growth of Chinese rose. Cut roses need a relatively high temperature. We can cut at 20 to 25 degrees, so the survival rate is higher.

The temperature is low in early spring, so we can cover it with plastic film to raise the temperature. In summer, the temperature is relatively high, so it can be placed in a cool and ventilated place, and water is often sprayed around like branches to reduce the temperature and make the cuttings of Chinese roses survive smoothly.

2 Selection of cuttings

The cuttings of Chinese rose are also branches of Chinese rose. When we cut Chinese rose flowers, we should choose complete branches. Generally, you can choose the branches that were full of flowers that year, and when the flowers are dying, cut off the residual flowers and the first leaf under the flowers in time, which can reduce the loss of nutrition, make the branches of the rose more full, and cut off the buds on the branches of the rose after expansion.

When cutting the branches of Chinese rose, we can cut them when there is dew in the morning, so that the vitality of branches and buds will be more vigorous. The branches cut by Chinese rose can be about ten centimeters long, with three or four buds on them, leaving two leaves on them, and all the petioles of other leaves are cut off. It is best to cut off half of the remaining two leaves, which can reduce transpiration.

(1) container selection: when cutting Chinese rose, you can use a pottery pot with good water permeability and air permeability, so that the flowerpot can drain water more smoothly and has good air permeability, which is beneficial to the growth of roots.

(2) Soil selection: The soil used for cut rose flowers can be soil with good air permeability and smooth drainage. We can use humus soil dried at high temperature, add a small amount of garden soil and mix more coarse sand. The advantage of using this soil is that it is rich in nutrients after survival and can continue to grow without transplantation. Yellow sand, vermiculite, perlite and parallel bran ash can also be directly used.

(3) Rose cutting: After the rose cutting, we can put it into rooting water and add a small amount of carbendazim. This can promote rooting and sterilization.

Fill the flowerpot with the mixed soil, about two centimeters below the flowerpot. Insert a hole in the soil with chopsticks, and then put the cuttings of Chinese rose into the soil. The cuttings are about 5 cm apart, so that the leaves will not block each other.

After cutting the rose, we can spray it with a fine-eye watering can, or we can pour the water soaked in rooting water and carbendazim into the flowerpot. You can also use the method of soaking pot to let the soil penetrate into the soil, so that the soil will not harden.

Postharvest management of rose

In early spring or late autumn, if the temperature is low, you can cover it with a plastic film, which can keep warm and moisturize.

Do not cover it with plastic film in summer to prevent high temperature and humidity. We can use a fine-eye watering can and often spray water around the branches of Chinese roses, which is better for ventilation and more conducive to the survival of Chinese roses.

About 15 to 20 days after cutting, the rose can be gradually exposed to sunlight, which can increase photosynthesis and promote the rooting of the rose. When the new buds of Chinese rose grow, the old leaves do not fall off, which means that the Chinese rose can survive cutting and can be transplanted to other flowerpots.

Black stems appear in Chinese rose cutting, mainly due to improper methods. As long as it is cut in the right way, it can survive even in summer. Have you learned the cutting method of Chinese rose?
