Wood is difficult to control, and problems such as cracking, deformation and decay are common. It is precisely because of the appeal shortcomings of wood that wooden furniture in Ming and Qing dynasties is rare. Red sandalwood is delicate, natural and antiseptic, and the wood is relatively stable, so it is not easy to crack and deform. But this is relative to most other woods. In fact, the problem of rosewood cracking has been a very tangled matter for craftsmen since the Ming Dynasty, and it is still the case today. Because of the dense wood structure of rosewood, water is not easy to lose, and it is difficult to obtain ideal stability effect when drying. If you choose to air dry naturally until there is no wood at all, then you can't wait for the newly cut rosewood to be put into the ideal state of normal human life. Therefore, cracking is a normal phenomenon, which is difficult to control artificially. I believe that many businesses have encountered the situation that customers get back the cracked beads, although the cracked beads of rosewood beads are generally subtle and not obvious, and most of them can heal themselves in the later stage. In fact, the cracks of rosewood beads are mostly caused by the large temperature and humidity gap, which is not obvious, and most of these tiny cracks can heal in the later stage.
First, methods to prevent beads from cracking:
1. After receiving the beads, if you are in arid areas (such as Qinghai, Xinjiang, etc. ), breathe or put some vegetable leaves in a sealed bag and seal it for about a week. If the humidity is not particularly dry, it can be sealed directly for about 7 days to let the beads adapt to the local climate first.
2. When it is not sealed, try to store it in a place where the temperature changes little. If it is dry, you can put a glass of water next to it.
Second, in addition to the roughly three factors of wood cracking, try to avoid cracking.
1. New rosewood is easy to crack. If rosewood is a fast-growing forest, the density of wood itself will become smaller because it grows too fast. When the temperature and humidity change greatly, it will crack easily.
There is a great difference between temperature and humidity. For example, mailing from the rainy south of the Yangtze River to the desert arid area is easy to crack because of the different environment and great temperature and humidity changes. (At the beginning of household heating in the northern region every year, it is also the time when rosewood cracks frequently. )
3. If the bracelet worn on the wrist often touches water, such as washing hands, wood is also extremely fragile.
