First, humanistic psychology is a bridge between teachers and students.
When doing ideological work for students, many teachers, relying on their years of experience, naturally deal with students' problems, without asking whether there is a scientific basis for doing so and whether it conforms to students' psychological laws. Some teachers think that students should be strictly required, and the old saying that "strict teachers make excellent students" can't be wrong. In fact, this understanding is one-sided and flawed. Humanistic psychology points out that the reasons for communication barriers between teachers and students are: orders and instructions; Warnings and threats; Words and deeds, emphasizing necessity and adaptability; Interpretation and logical persuasion; Judging, criticizing, accusing and refuting; Comments and suggestions; Satire and ridicule; Interpretation, analysis and diagnosis; Guarantee, sympathy and comfort; Cross-examination and investigation; Humiliation and depression. These reasons are almost all caused by teachers, and these manifestations are almost commonplace in our teachers' daily education work.
Rogers, a humanistic psychologist, believes that the relationship between students and teachers is similar to that between patients and doctors (visitors and clients). Psychology believes that everyone has the ability to solve their own problems, to choose their future life and to tide over difficulties. Students can solve their own learning problems. The key is that when he is in trouble, someone should give him sympathy, recognition and encouragement to help him solve his own problems. In fact, teachers should play the roles of sympathizers, approvers and encouragers.
In the process of communication between teachers and students, the only thing teachers should do is praise and support, praise students from specific aspects rather than big personality, support their efforts and help them cultivate self-confidence. Teachers should follow the following four principles:
Teachers should have high confidence in the human body, each student, their potential and their ability to solve their own problems.
Teachers should learn to empathize, that is, to understand and appreciate the feelings of others, but also to learn to understand and appreciate the feelings of students;
Teachers should be able to take the initiative to pay attention to students unconditionally and recognize students without judgment, which is the need of human nature;
Teachers should treat students sincerely and don't put on airs, because students have the psychology of adults.
When communicating with students, teachers should actively listen, know how to repeat and repeat information repeatedly to show that they are listening attentively and paying attention to his words; Nodding and smiling will play a great encouraging role; Use words such as "Go on" and "What happened next?" "Oh", "OK, I can understand" and so on are all positive encouragement and good psychological hints.
The relationship between teachers and students depends largely on the attitude adopted by teachers. Only by knowing the psychological laws of students in detail and mastering effective educational means can we truly achieve the purpose of educating people.
Second, mental health standards: let teachers get health first
Teachers are very concerned about students' mental health and are afraid of problems on their way to school. In fact, we should pay attention to ourselves first. Only when teachers have mental health can students have mental health, so teachers can't ignore students' psychological problems.
The World Health Organization put forward the concept of "mental health" in 1989, which shows that all mankind are facing similar problems. This concept can be roughly defined as: individuals can give full play to their greatest potential and properly handle and adapt to the relationship between people and between people and social environment, which includes four aspects: physical health, mental health, good social adaptation and moral health. In his book Towards Human Psychology, Maslow summed up the specific criteria of 15 developmental mental health from the psychological investigation results of 49 cases:
Face up to reality: it means being able to see the world truly, not according to your own needs;
Self-acceptance: commonly known as liking yourself or accepting yourself; Treat all your strengths and weaknesses, don't complain, don't worry;
Honest words and deeds: do not hide your feelings and emotions, and be able to express your thoughts and emotions reasonably;
Love your career: regard work as a source of happiness, not hard work, not just a means of making a living;
Independent and withdrawn: able to endure loneliness;
Harmonious relationship with the environment: it can be handled safely under any circumstances and get along with it happily;
Appreciate daily life: you won't be bothered by the repetition of your experience, but you can find happiness everywhere in your life, such as cutting a watermelon and seeing the red dot, the juice overflows and you are extremely happy; Have an inexplicable affection for moonlight and sunset;
Have a peak experience (flow experience): relax when intoxicated, forgotten, or addicted;
Compassion and care for others: have strong and profound feelings for people, be willing to help others, and have a pleasant experience in the process of helping others;
Deep interpersonal relationship: deep friendship and lofty love;
Treat people with democracy and equality: tolerate everyone, not blindly lofty and aloof, in order to satisfy people's communication motives;
Abide by moral standards: Morality is a powerful tool to regulate people's behavior. The reason why any society can continue is because there are certain moral standards, and people with mental health will abide by certain moral standards;
Humor: Humor reveals the absurd and unreasonable characteristics of the world in a humorous way, which can effectively resolve the grievances in the world and is a kind of wisdom;
Creativity: for ordinary people, creativity does not refer to scientific creation, which is mainly measured in two aspects: first, it likes new things in society and is sensitive to new things; Second, I like to change my lifestyle, not rigid and adaptable;
Major issues have their own beliefs and don't go with the flow: mentally healthy people have their own beliefs and principles in life. Nowadays, many people in society are psychologically unhealthy because they have no faith in their hearts.
Before using these standards to measure students' psychological state, teachers should first use these standards to measure themselves, let them take their own problems as the criterion, and strive to make teachers' psychology healthier before students, so that education will be healthy and students will be healthy students.
