Health assessment terms are briefly explained.

Short pulse: Short pulse means that the pulse rate is less than the heart rate in the same unit time. It is characterized by completely irregular heart rhythm, different heart rates and different heart sounds. The mechanism is that myocardial contractility is different, and some beats with less cardiac output only occur in the heart, but they cannot cause the pulse rate to be lower than the heart rate. This phenomenon is called "pulse shortage" or "pulse shortage". Seen in patients with atrial fibrillation. The shorter the pulse, the more serious the arrhythmia. When the condition improves, the "short pulse" may disappear. In this case, the heart rate and pulse rate should be measured at the same time.

Pulsedeficit means to measure the pulse while auscultating the heart, and the pulse is smaller than the heartbeat. It belongs to abnormal rhythm.

This is because sometimes the heart is not fully prepared for ejection, so the ejection force is small and the ejection volume is very small, which is not enough to cause the pulse of peripheral blood vessels. The most common patient is atrial fibrillation, which can be an important sign of atrial fibrillation, because the atrial rate is very fast and the beating speed of the ventricle is different. Sometimes the ventricle is not ready, so it will cause short pulses. But we should also pay attention to it, sometimes it can cause premature beats. In particular, frequent premature beats sometimes cause some misunderstandings in auscultation and mistake them for atrial fibrillation.
