How to raise a healthy hamster

The way to raise a healthy hamster is to prepare a cage, feed it, and pay attention to temperature and sunshine.

1, prepare the cage

First of all, we must prepare a special cage for it and buy some sawdust or something. Put some sawdust in the nest, and never use newspapers, tissues, etc. As a cushion. Because there is too much ink in the newspaper, the paper contains bleach. It is suggested that the cage should not be too small. Generally, night markets have cages that are cheap and not too small.

Step 2: Feeding

When feeding hamsters, the landlord must never feed people. Too much salt and seasoning will increase the burden on mice. Especially snacks and the like.

But unprocessed coarse grains can be fed, and corn and coix seed can be fed. And don't let mice drink raw water, let them drink boiled cold water, or mineral water or pure water. Don't use bamboo chopsticks, popsicles and other things to make mice grind their teeth. Please use the special grinding products and feed for rats in the market.

3. Temperature

Pay attention to feeding temperature. The ideal temperature for rats and mice is 20~28 degrees, but it doesn't mean that it doesn't matter how it changes within this range. For example, 20 degrees in the morning and evening and 28 degrees at noon are not good for mice.

Because rats and mice are sensitive to temperature changes, the body may not be able to stand it, so the ambient temperature of the feeding environment should be kept as high as possible.

4. sunshine

Avoid direct sunlight. Don't let hamsters touch the sun directly. Rats are very afraid of heat. When summer comes, use a radiator or marble to cool down.

Living habits of hamsters:

Hamsters are omnivorous animals, with a wide range of eating habits and the habit of storing food. They mainly eat plant seeds, tender stems, leaves and fruits, and occasionally eat insects. Hamsters do not hibernate, but live on stored food in winter. As many as 90 kilograms of hamster caves were found to store food.

Hamsters perceive visual, tactile, auditory and chemical stimuli. A day is basically a rest time for hamsters. They like to lie down during the day and go out at night, mainly at night. Their eyesight is poor, they can only blur their shapes, and their colors can only distinguish between black and white.

Hamsters use chemicals to communicate. Males mark their territory with their huge sebaceous glands. In fact, the size of these glands is related to the position of individuals in the dominance level: the larger the glands, the greater the superiority of animals.
