How to judge whether the baby's hearing is normal?

First, from birth to 3 months after birth

When the baby suddenly hears the sound above 60 decibels, there will be activities such as shaking all over, clenching fists with both hands, rapid flexion or frowning of forearms, blinking and opening eyes.

2.4 months to 6 months

Babies respond to sounds and recognize their mothers' voices. I can look at my mother with my eyes when she is talking to herself, or stop moving when I hear her voice and turn my head to the sound source.

Three months, seven to nine months.

You can turn your face to the direction of the sound source, that is, you have the ability to distinguish the direction of the sound.

4. 10 to 1 1 month.

Babies can respond to their own names, say "mom" and "dad", listen to pleasant music, move their upper and lower limbs rhythmically with music, and have rich responses to language.

5. 1 year to 1 year and a half.

A baby can respond according to the language he hears. When asking "where are the nose, eyes and mouth", he can point with his fingers. The best time for a baby to learn a language has begun.

6. 1 1/2 to 3 years old

Babies can express their feelings and consciousness in simple language.

Seven, three to four years old.

I can recite children's songs and tell stories. This is what science calls the language enrichment period or the language learning development period.

If the baby's performance is different, it is recommended to go to the hospital to do a hearing screening for the baby.

Extended data

Neonatal hearing screening is an objective, rapid and non-invasive examination through physiological examination such as otoacoustic emission, automatic auditory brainstem response and acoustic impedance, which is carried out in natural sleep or quiet state after birth.

The research shows that the incidence of hearing loss between normal newborns and high-risk newborns is quite different, with 1%~3% for normal newborns and 2%~4% for high-risk newborns. All newborns should receive hearing screening before discharge, and those who fail should receive binaural screening within 42 days after birth.

Babies who fail to pass the re-screening should undergo audiological and medical evaluation at the age of 3 months to determine whether there is congenital or permanent hearing loss in order to implement intervention.

Children who fail to pass the re-examination should be examined by hearing testing institutions in otorhinolaryngology, acoustic impedance, otoacoustic emission, auditory brainstem evoked potential, behavioral audiometry and other related examinations, and medical and imaging assessments should be made when necessary to make a diagnosis.

Infants with high risk factors of hearing loss should make individualized hearing retest time and frequency according to the possible delayed hearing loss. Children who have passed the screening but have high risk factors should be followed up every six months 1 time at least within 3 years old. If hearing impairment is suspected, audiological evaluation should be made in time.
