Many pig farmers don't know how to buy healthy piglets. As we all know, the health status of piglets is related to the future slaughter status of pig farms. If piglets are unhealthy or carry some infectious virus, it will pose a threat to pig farms. Once sick, it will only slightly increase the cost of drug treatment, and even lead to the death of piglets. Today, I will teach you how to choose healthy pigs and knock on the blackboard when introducing pigs! You can't miss these knowledge points.

Healthy pigs have bright eyes and no eye drops and tears. They will continue to look around. If a stranger approaches, the pig will raise its head and stare warily. If it is a sick pig, the eyes are not there, half open and half closed. Sometimes I cry or shed tears, and some people don't avoid it when they come near. The tail of a healthy pig will keep swinging from side to side. When eating or arching, it will bend into a "9" shape. The tail and hindquarters are clean, but the tail of the sick pig does not swing or bend, showing a weak drooping state. And feces often stick to the tail and hindquarters. Generally speaking, the fur of healthy piglets is smooth, shiny and clean, and the skin of white pigs is ruddy. The condition of sick pigs is messy fur, and some have symptoms such as ecchymosis, bleeding, ulcer and scabies.

The feces of healthy piglets are lumpy, slightly scattered, dark in color, smelly but not fishy, and the urine is clear and light yellow. The feces of sick pigs are thin, or too dry and hard, showing red, white, yellow and green colors. The smell is unpleasant and the urine is turbid and opaque. Excellent varieties have the advantages of fast growth and development, high feed utilization rate, strong disease resistance, good adaptability, easy feeding and high feed reward. When buying pigs, it's best to choose piglets in the same litter, because pigs in the same litter don't bite each other, can live in peace, are easy to raise and grow fast, and the smallest pigs in a litter are generally weak pigs. The food intake of healthy piglets is directly proportional to the daily gain, that is, they eat more and grow faster. When feeding, they are hungry and screaming for food. Their mouths reach to the bottom of the trough, shoveling and creaking rhythmically, making them eat hard. After a while, their bellies are complete and they can leave the trough freely. Healthy piglets are ill if they drink water irregularly, or if they drink too much or don't drink water.

Xiao Xiang pig is a breed that emerged after natural survival of the fittest and long-term natural environment selection. The most obvious characteristics of Xiao Xiang pig are small, fat and round. Its hair is short and shiny, with some wrinkles on the top of its head and short ears. Its weight is generally less than 15 kg, its height is about 45 cm, and its body length is about 70 cm.
