3D icon
3D icons are still the mainstream development trend, but it seems that they have not been popularized. Mainly because it is difficult to make. But its performance in volume and texture can't be copied by other styles.
On the other hand, 3D icons have a heavy visual proportion, which may be more eye-catching than the content itself, so it is very difficult to integrate with the interface.
Hand-drawn icon
Hand-painted style is unique. We can create an extremely changeable visual style by controlling its lines, strokes and thickness. It looks more individual and different. If this is in line with your brand positioning, hand-painted style is undoubtedly the best choice.
thick lines
Linear icons have always been one of the most common icon styles. On the surface of the trend, designers are more and more keen to use thicker lines, which can not only increase the overall visual weight, but also not be too dull like surface icons, and lines can show more complicated details.
However, it should be noted that it is very difficult to maintain the consistency of line thickness and internal space of different icons.
Pseudo-3D icon
It is very difficult to create a sense of volume with a flat style, but the advantage is that compared with 3D icons, this style has stronger control over colors and graphics, and there won't be too many details to make icons overwhelmed. But this style needs more space and larger exhibition area, such as King Kong District, which is very suitable for this style.
Extremely simple diagram
Less is more. This style can be said to return to the essence of icon design: removing details and expressing functions with the least content. This is a test of the designer's summing-up ability, not only to ensure the recognition of graphics, but also to simplify the elements to a minimum.
Lines, squares, points and curves are actually difficult and risky ways to make logo based on the most basic geometric shapes, because the shapes are simple. So it's hard to distinguish and be creative.
In the following example, the square combines positive and negative shapes, and the shape of the shadow changes with different colors. Let the basic square matrix have more possibilities.
Abstract icon
Abstract graphics are very attractive, which will make the product more high-end atmosphere. However, the recognition degree will also deteriorate. We should try our best to find realistic elements in the abstraction to ensure the most basic readability. It is recommended to use it in unimportant places with written descriptions.
Gradient element
With the improvement of display equipment, the application of gradient color is more and more common. No designer will be satisfied with using monotonous solid colors. The gradient color makes TINT more diverse and unique. For startups or small and micro enterprises, personalized colors are one of the keys to attracting users.
subdued colour
Soft colors, similar to the color matching of almond biscuits, are usually associated with women and health. Slender lines can create a gentle and high-end feeling, natural colors will not hurt the eyes, and users can browse the products for a longer time.
