According to experts from Jinan CDC, Kangxinuo Biological Co., Ltd. and Institute of Bioengineering, Academy of Military Medical Sciences, Chinese Academy of Military Sciences jointly developed recombinant novel coronavirus vaccine (adenovirus type 5 vector).
Its principle is to delete the replication-related gene from human adenovirus type 5 as a vector, which will not replicate in human body, and insert the gene fragment of COVID-19 spike protein (S protein) at the position where the replication-related gene is deleted. Adenovirus vector carries S protein gene into human cells, and S protein gene enters human cells to synthesize S protein, which is used as antigen to stimulate the immune response of the body.
