(1) protein
The growth, development and oviposition of birds need to supplement a lot of protein to balance nutrition. Some protein contains several essential amino acids, which is called complete protein, and some protein consists of non-essential amino acids, which is called incomplete protein.
Birds can't synthesize arginine, lysine and other essential amino acids, so the feed should be mixed in a certain proportion.
Generally speaking, the nutritional value of plant protein is lower than that of animal protein, and the protein content of cereals is relatively low.
When feeding, pay attention to mixing animal proteins such as egg yolk, insects and meat with plant proteins such as soybean meal, and don't feed a feed alone for a long time, otherwise it will be impossible to maintain the nutritional needs of normal growth and development of birds.
(2) carbohydrates
Carbohydrate is the main substance to provide energy for birds, and it is the basic energy for birds to maintain body temperature and fly.
Birds are very active, consume a lot of heat energy and need to be replenished constantly.
Cereals and fruits are rich in carbohydrates, and the content of carbohydrates in meat is also high. Therefore, under normal circumstances, cultured ornamental birds will not lack carbohydrates.
On the contrary, because the activities of caged birds are relatively small, the carbohydrates provided in the feed are often excessive, which makes birds unable to consume them. These excess carbohydrates will be converted into fat and stored in birds. Too much fat accumulation is harmful to birds' health.
(3) Fat
Fat has the function of maintaining body temperature and reducing friction between organs. It is also the most economical storage form of heat energy, and it can also dissolve fat-soluble vitamins and be absorbed.
Oil crop seeds are fat feed, which can be added appropriately when feeding.
But it should be noted that the feed also contains a certain amount of fat. Too much fat supply often makes birds fat and become dull and inactive. Male birds don't crow and female birds don't lay eggs. It is difficult to dissipate heat and easy to get heatstroke. In case of violent activities caused by sudden commotion, people often die suddenly.
