Poop health chart

Since the baby was born, Bao Ma began to live a life of dealing with the baby's feces.

Every time you open your baby's diaper, you should observe it carefully and study it for a long time. If there is a slight problem with the stool, the whole family will be in a hurry to find the problem.

Every day, Children's Medical Link also receives many questions from Ma Bao and pictures of people's poop.

"Do you think my baby's poop is normal?"

So today I will provide you with a quick list of poop, in case your mother needs it in an emergency.

There will be some differences in stool with different feeding methods.

Breast-feeding: the stool is yellow and golden yellow, mushy, odorless, occasionally with nipples and greenish color, 2 ~ 3 times a day.

Artificial feeding: the stool is yellowish or khaki, hard and dry. Too much sugar in milk powder may soften and have a slight rancid smell, 1 to 2 times a day.

Among them, breast flap and green poop are also the most concerned by parents. Are these two normal? Generally speaking, it is like this!

Breast flap: refers to white particles or petals appearing in stool, mainly caused by protein's and indigestion. It will be normal when the baby's intestines recover.

Green poop: The reason of baby's green poop may be caused by iron supplementation, lack of food, cold, etc. Green stool caused by iron supplementation does not need treatment. If you are not full, you can increase your feeding. If you are afraid of the cold, you can take warm measures for your baby.

The ideal poop shapes for babies are type 3 and type 4.

If it is 1 type and 2/type, it is dry and constipation is considered.

Type 7 is considered to be watery stool, which causes diarrhea.

Types 5 and 6 are less than half a year old, and it is normal if the frequency is regular and the weight is normal.

If you suddenly change from type 3 or 4 to type 5 or 6, your digestion may be abnormal.

Egg-flower soup-like poop: the poop is yellow, with more water and less stool. In the case of poor spirit, it is considered viral enteritis, and parents should pay attention to hydrating the baby.

Gray/white stool: White and gray stools will be produced when bile in the intestine is reduced or missing.

Red poop: If the baby does not eat dark food such as pitaya, it is considered that there are abnormal tissues or polyps in the intestine or anal fissure, so pay attention to diet at ordinary times.

Black stool: Non-newborns have black stool. If you haven't eaten iron-rich food recently, you should consider whether you have high gastrointestinal bleeding.

If this happens, you should consult a doctor as soon as possible. It is best for Ma Bao to take stool samples.

Put the baby's poop in plastic wrap or plastic bag. If it is watery, you can put a protective film in the diaper in advance, so it will not be absorbed quickly, and the test will be carried out within 1 hour.
