The Guidelines for the Prevention and Treatment of Type 2 Diabetes in China (version 20 17) classifies the blood glucose status as follows:

fasting blood-glucose

Normal blood sugar: < 6.1mmol/L.

Impaired fasting blood glucose (IFG): ≥ 6. 1? mmol/L，< 7.0？ Millimole/liter

Abnormal glucose tolerance: < 7.0? Millimole/liter

Diabetes: ≥7.0? Millimole/liter

Blood sugar two hours after sugar load (commonly known as postprandial blood sugar)

Normal blood sugar: < 7.8 mmol/L.

Abnormal glucose tolerance: ≥7.8 mmol/L, <11.1mmol/L.
