Why is the little finger of the left hand numb?

It's ulnar nerve

Compression of any part of ulnar nerve will lead to numbness of the left little finger and half of the ring finger adjacent to the little finger, including the radial half of the palm (which is also related to fatigue and other incentives)

Common stuck parts are:

1. elbow (medically known as cubital tunnel syndrome)

2. Carpal tunnel (medically known as carpal tunnel syndrome)

3. Paravertebral canal (medically known as cervical spondylotic radiculopathy)

4. In addition, the compression of the lower trunk of brachial plexus at the thoracic outlet can also cause this symptom (medically called thoracic outlet syndrome).

Generally speaking, it is 1.2 mentioned above. The first cubital tunnel syndrome is the most common.

You can check the electromyogram (this examination is generally not needed).

Conservative treatment includes physical therapy, acupuncture, closed hot compress and so on.

At ordinary times, we should pay attention to rest the elbow joint and try not to over-flex, because over-flexing will make the ulnar nerve tense and cause the surrounding tissues to press the ulnar nerve. In particular, it is easier to prevent the ulnar nerve from being stretched and compressed when sleeping with two forearms on the table.

If necessary, neurolysis can be explored surgically (most of them do not need surgical treatment)
