Tian Tian healthy life e

Not only the body needs to be well maintained, but also the mind needs to be well maintained. The following five beliefs about healthy living give us all-round guidance on physical and mental health. I hope we can abide by it together!

Five beliefs of healthy life

First, don't kill people.

Recognizing the pain caused by the destruction of life, I vowed to cultivate compassion and learn various ways to protect the lives of people, animals and plants.

I am determined not to kill, not to teach others to kill, not to forgive myself any kind of killing in thought and life, and not to enjoy anyone's killing at the same time.

Second, don't steal.

Recognizing the pain caused by exploitation, oppression, theft and social injustice, I vowed to cultivate compassion, learn various methods and work hard for the good living conditions of human beings, animals and plants.

I swear to give by sharing my time, energy and material wealth with those who really need it.

I'm determined not to steal, and I won't take what belongs to others for myself. I will respect the property ownership of others, but I will prevent the behavior of seeking benefits for myself at the expense of human suffering or the suffering of people in other parts of the world.

Third, don't commit adultery.

Recognizing the pain caused by improper sexual relations, I vowed to cultivate a sense of responsibility and learn to maintain the stability and unity of individuals, couples, families and society. I am determined not to get involved in a sexual relationship without love and long-term commitment. In order to maintain the happiness of myself and others, I am determined to respect my commitments.

As far as I can, I will make every effort to protect my children from sexual abuse and prevent the relationship between husband and wife and the family from breaking up because of improper sexual relations.

Fourth, don't lie.

Recognizing the pain caused by being absent-minded and not listening, I vowed to practice love and listening to bring happiness and joy to others, thus alleviating their distress.

Knowing that language can create happiness as well as pain, I vowed to learn to speak true words that can inspire people's self-confidence and bring happiness and hope.

I am determined not to spread uncertain news, criticize or condemn things I am uncertain, and avoid saying things that will lead to division or discord, or lead to the breakdown of families and groups. I will make every effort to mediate and calm all contradictions, no matter how small.

Fifth, don't drink

Recognizing the pain caused by improper consumption, I swear to maintain good health for myself, my family and society physically and psychologically through conscious diet and consumption. I swear to absorb only those things that are beneficial to the physical and mental health and harmony of myself, my family and the public I am determined not to drink alcohol, eat harmful food, or touch unhealthy mental products, such as some TV programs, magazines, books, movies and conversations. I know that using these "drugs" to harm one's body and mind is a betrayal of ancestors, parents, society and future generations.

I will change the state of violence, fear, anger and chaos in my heart and society by practicing these five commandments, which are applicable to both individuals and society. I understand that proper discipline is essential to transform myself and society.

Five beliefs of healthy life

Two thousand five hundred years ago, the Buddha revealed five excellent commandments to lonely elders and his friends to help them build a peaceful and healthy life. Since then, these principles have been used as the moral basis for a happy life in many Asian countries. I will make their applicability to today's social situation more vivid and remind you. Violence, sexual abuse, racial discrimination, drugs, alcohol and tobacco, environmental pollution and many other problems force us to find ways to eliminate the pain and troubles that are spreading in our hearts and society. I hope you will think about and practice these five precepts, whether in their original form or in the form they have shown in the traditional customs of this nation.
