Environmental protection mainly includes:
(1) Prevent environmental pollution caused by production and living activities, including the prevention and control of "three wastes" (waste water, waste gas and waste residue), dust, radioactive substances, noise, vibration, odor and electromagnetic microwave radiation, harmful gases, liquids and noise generated by transportation activities, pollutants discharged by ships at sea, toxic and harmful chemicals used in industrial and agricultural production and people's life, and smoke and dust discharged from urban life.
(2) Preventing environmental damage caused by construction and development activities, including preventing environmental pollution and damage caused by large-scale water conservancy projects, highway trunk lines, large-scale ports and docks, airports and large-scale industrial projects, preventing environmental damage, pollution and impact caused by land reclamation activities around lakes, preventing the development of offshore oil fields, coastal zones and marshlands, developing forests and mineral resources, and establishing and building new industrial zones and new towns.
(3) Protecting the natural environment with special value, including effectively protecting rare species and their living environment, historical sites of special natural development, geological phenomena, landforms and landscapes, etc. In addition, urban and rural planning, controlling soil erosion and desertification, planting trees, controlling population growth and distribution, and rationally allocating productive forces also belong to environmental protection. Environmental protection has become one of the common actions and main tasks of governments and people all over the world. China declared environmental protection as a basic national policy, and formulated and promulgated a series of environmental protection laws and regulations to ensure the implementation of this basic national policy.
(4) At present, there are different degrees of environmental pollution problems all over the world, including atmospheric environmental pollution, marine pollution and urban environmental problems. With the globalization of economy and trade, environmental pollution is becoming more and more international. In recent years, the problem of transboundary movement of hazardous wastes is a prominent manifestation in this regard.
At present, China's environmental problems are mainly manifested in the following aspects: pollutant emissions are still quite large, far higher than the self-purification ability of the environment; The task of industrial pollution control is still quite heavy, and the proportion of urban domestic pollution has increased significantly in some places. Agricultural water quality and soil pollution are increasingly prominent in many areas, and harmful residues of agricultural and sideline products in some places exceed the standard, which affects human health and product export; Soil erosion and desertification are still increasing in some areas, and so on. On the whole, the deterioration of the ecological environment in China has been initially contained, and some areas have improved, but the current environmental situation in China is still quite grim, which is not optimistic. The grim environmental situation forces us to make a choice: sustainable development or self-destruction. There is no doubt that we should take effective measures to prevent environmental pollution and destruction immediately. Otherwise, the deteriorating environment will overshadow all our achievements in other fields. Therefore, while promoting modernization and maintaining the sustained and rapid growth of the national economy, environmental protection must be placed in a prominent position. We should realize that protecting and improving the environment is also protecting and developing productive forces.
We should protect the environment, otherwise human beings will accelerate their demise!
