Preclinical symptoms
1, hooked nail: the diseased nail is too long and bends to the palmoplantar side; This is a typical manifestation of the initial symptoms of onychomycosis.
2. Uneven nail surface: the deck surface is rough, uneven and tarnished. This unevenness can be vertical or horizontal.
3. Deck turbidity: The diseased nail is dull, and it is generally gray and white at first.
4. Nail delamination: There is delamination between the deck and nail bed, and the initial symptoms of nail delamination are not obvious.
More serious symptoms:
5, nail discoloration: the color of the diseased nail is no longer just turbid, and the color gradually changes from dirty gray to dark brown.
6, nail separation, deck brittleness: the damaged deck is brittle due to lack of elasticity and toughness, and keratin particles are easy to fall off and disperse into powder.
7. Thickening of nails: After fungi invade the deck or nail bed, keratin in the deck is highly proliferated by fungi, and the accumulation of keratin thickens the deck. Thickening of the deck also deepens the turbidity of the nail bed, which is generally more than 3 times of the normal deck thickness1~.
8. Deck inclination: Fungi and proliferated horniness accumulate under the deck in large quantities, which makes the far end of the deck significantly higher and inclined. Tilting toenail deck affects wearing shoes and seriously affects the quality of life.
