There are two kinds of nucleic acid test reports, one is qualitative test report and the other is quantitative test report. The qualitative test report only tells negative or positive results, while the quantitative test report contains specific values of nucleic acids, that is, the virus replication situation and specific quantification can be clarified through the test report. For the detection of novel coronavirus nucleic acid, there are only qualitative detection reports, which are generally divided into positive or negative.
Positive results generally suggest that there is novel coronavirus infection in the body, but the possibility of false positive can not be completely ruled out. If the environment is polluted, there will be false positives, but the relative probability is relatively low. The negative results suggest that there is no novel coronavirus infection in the body, but if the patient has a clear epidemiological history, typical clinical manifestations and typical pneumonia manifestations of chest CT, the possibility of false negative cannot be ruled out, because the probability of false negative of nucleic acid detection is relatively high, so the patient suspected of novel coronavirus infection cannot be completely ruled out for the first time, and a second review is needed.
