The more treatment, the worse your health. What's wrong with Lin Daiyu?

Daiyu's illness experienced a process from mild to severe. When I first entered Jia Fu, at first glance, I was weak and had "shortcomings". She herself said, "Take medicine if you know how to eat." This disease has a long history.

On the other hand, from the time when children can eat (about one year old) to five or six years old, they are stunted and have weak resistance, and are generally more likely to get sick. Although Daiyu is ill, this is also the normal state of her young children.

But with the development of the plot and the passage of time, Daiyu's condition became more and more serious. By the age of forty-nine, she had felt "sad, but not much tears." If we don't consider the surreal premise of "tears returning", from a medical point of view, this is a manifestation of body fluid failure.

After the 1980s, the manuscript was lost. We don't know how Daiyu came to the end of her life step by step, but it must be related to her illness. What "the immortal escapes" and what "the flowing water dies" are not worth mentioning.

So, what is the disease of Daiyu? Let's analyze her symptoms.

Daiyu coughs a lot, sleeps less, is depressed, is weak and afraid of fatigue-just ask a Chinese doctor and he will tell you that this is a typical symptom of tuberculosis.

Now when people hear about tuberculosis, they don't talk much about it, and even a little disagree. Indeed, since penicillin came out and was widely used in clinic, tuberculosis rarely caused death.

But in the Qing dynasty, let alone the Qing dynasty, until the Republic of China and the early days of the founding of the People's Republic of China, tuberculosis was an incurable disease. It is generally believed that Lu Xun died of tuberculosis, and Xiao Hong died young. Some people even suggested that Xiao Hong was infected with Lu Xun's disease.

Apart from the incurable disease, there is another terrible thing about tuberculosis, which is its infectivity. The main infection route of tuberculosis is respiratory infection, which spreads germs through droplets. People in the Qing dynasty already knew about infectious diseases. "A Dream of Red Mansions" also mentioned "getting sick", which means infection.

When visiting relatives and friends, Yuan Chun may not have had time to see the symptoms of Daiyu, but when she goes to the province and the palace every month, Mrs. Wang and her daughter will have some household words to say, so it is easy to mention Daiyu's illness. And once the disease is mentioned, it will not be associated with infectivity.

This has also become the most natural reason for Yuan Chun to oppose Daiyu's marriage to Baoyu: having children is the second priority, and there will be concubines anyway, but the health of my younger brother must come first.

Tuberculosis is an incurable disease, but it may not die soon. Many people put it off for ten or twenty years. Daiyu also procrastinated in spite of illness, and cultivated precious love with Baoyu in her illness. But it is also because of an incurable disease that her love is only love and can never be implemented in marriage.
