How can crabs survive?

The breeding method of Chinese mitten-handed crab is to choose a good pond, make preparations before stocking, raise scientifically, manage carefully and prevent enemy diseases.

1. Choose a good pond: the crab pond has sufficient water, good water quality and convenient water intake. The area is generally 1-5 mu, and the water depth is generally1-1.5 m. Sandy loam and gravelly soil have the best quality at the bottom of crab ponds, which have good ventilation performance and are beneficial to aquatic plants. The thickness of silt is generally less than 5 cm. Anti-escape facilities should be built around the crab pond, such as brick walls and plastic films.

2. Preparation before stocking: Before stocking young crabs, it is necessary to do a good job in cleaning and disinfecting the pond and preparing for breeding aquatic plants. The methods of cleaning the pond are mostly to drain the pond water, expose the bottom of the pond, and disinfect it with quicklime or bleaching powder, with good results. When frogs or frog eggs are found, it is very important to fish them out at any time.

3. Scientific feeding: In the whole process of pond culture, river crabs mainly rely on artificial feeding except aquatic plants and benthos. Because river crabs are omnivores, we mainly feed miscellaneous fish and shrimp, cakes, potatoes, wheat and other feeds. When feeding, put the bait on the soil slope or shallow water near the water level line, and generally choose 3-5 evenly distributed feeding points per mu of water surface.

4. Careful management: Eriocheir sinensis has higher requirements for water quality than fish, especially for polluted water. The water quality in the pond is good, which is beneficial to the growth and development of river crabs, and the meat is delicious. When raising crabs in ponds, the PH value of pond water should be 7-9. In order to keep the water fresh, the methods of changing water and adding water are generally adopted to keep the pool water clear, fresh and lively. Transparency should be above 40 cm.

5. Enemy damage and disease prevention: The enemy damage of river crabs mainly includes water rats, frogs and birds, among which water rats are the most harmful. River crabs move around the pool slope at night, especially soft-shelled crabs that have just been shelled. They often move slowly for several days in a row and are the most vulnerable. Poisonous bait and artificial capture can be used for prevention and control. In the stage of crab seedlings and young crabs, convergence worms and simple worms are attached. In the process of feeding, you should always add water and sprinkle quicklime to get better results.
