Legal basis: Article 15 of the Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) on Basic Medical Care and Health Promotion: Basic medical care services refer to services such as disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, nursing and rehabilitation that are necessary for maintaining human health, are compatible with the level of economic and social development, and can be obtained fairly by citizens, and are equipped with appropriate drugs, technologies and equipment.
Basic medical and health services include basic public health services and basic medical services. The state provides basic public health services free of charge.
