CtDNA, also known as liquid biopsy, is a DNA fragment from tumor genome, which constantly flows in human blood circulation system and carries certain characteristics (including mutation, deletion, insertion, rearrangement, abnormal copy number, methylation, etc. It is a tumor marker with broad application prospect, which can be used for early diagnosis, development monitoring and prognosis judgment of tumors. Its sources include: necrotic tumor cells, apoptotic tumor cells, circulating tumor cells and foreign bodies secreted by tumor cells, among which apoptotic tumor cells are the main source of ctDNA.
