Why is veterinary drug management closely related to human health?

Since July 2020, the "no resistance order" has been officially implemented: except traditional Chinese medicine, the use of growth-promoting drug additives in feed is prohibited and controlled from the source. Residue standards are also included in food safety standards. The National Health and Wellness Commission and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs put forward opinions on the relevant mechanisms and working procedures of pesticide and veterinary drug standards in food. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs put forward the pesticide residue standard plan, which was incorporated into the food safety standard plan and released according to the prescribed procedures.

For veterinary drug residues, we can start from these aspects:

First, promote the special rectification of veterinary antibacterial drugs, strictly guard against the risk of exceeding the standard, increase the popularization of scientific and technological knowledge, and let farmers know about the use of veterinary drugs, and use them safely and reasonably.

Two, continue to strengthen the traceability management of the production, operation and use of agricultural and veterinary drugs, continue to promote the construction of the national basic data information platform for veterinary drugs, and complete the construction of the traceability system for veterinary drug production. Since the implementation of the "two-dimensional code" retrospective supervision of veterinary drugs, the results have begun to show, and the number of fake veterinary drugs has decreased significantly.

Three, strengthen monitoring, promote the quality and residue monitoring of veterinary drugs. Use the detector to sample the food in the market or food processing enterprises, and strictly control the hygienic quality of the food.

Four, the introduction of special policies and regulations, improve the supervision system of veterinary drug residues and provide professional guidance.

Five, take various measures to support the development of Chinese veterinary drugs, and explore the use of safe, efficient and low-residue Chinese veterinary drugs and other products to replace antibacterial drugs.

The problem of veterinary drug residues has become one of the important factors affecting food safety. The food matrix is complex and diverse, and there are traces of veterinary drugs in food, which brings difficulties to the accurate and quantitative analysis of veterinary drugs in food. According to the characteristics of residue analysis, many rapid and sensitive detection technologies have been developed, including instrumental analysis, immunoassay and biosensor.
