What are the symptoms after Omicron infection and what is the probability of repeated infection? Will there be sequelae after rehabilitation? In order to deeply understand these problems, Southern Metropolis Daily designed a questionnaire about Omicron infection. By the end of 12 and 14, a total of 58 valid questionnaires/kloc-0 were collected. The survey results show that about 80% people are asymptomatic and mild patients. There are fewer severe and critical patients, accounting for 4.43%. More than 90% people said that they had no sequela, and 98. 1% people had no recurrent infection.

Fever, cough and body pain are the most common, and nearly 30% respondents' sense of taste and smell temporarily disappeared.
Before analyzing the questionnaire, the vaccination situation of the people who participated in the questionnaire survey was introduced. Among them, 92.4 1% people were vaccinated with at least one shot of vaccine, and 68.99% people completed the whole vaccination. This also confirms that the current vaccine is not effective in preventing infection.
What are the symptoms after being infected with Omicron in COVID-19? According to the analysis of questionnaire survey results, fever, cough and general aches are the most common symptoms after Omicron infection, accounting for 84.865438 0%, 76.58% and 70.89% respectively, and only 7.59% have no obvious symptoms.
An official from the Infectious Diseases Department of Huashan Medical College affiliated to Fudan University, the official account of WeChat, recently introduced that the common symptoms after Omicron infection include fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, stuffy nose, muscle aches, headache and other "flu-like symptoms", which are mutually confirmed by the results of this questionnaire survey. It is noteworthy that many infected people told Southern Reporter that there will be a high fever after this round of infection, which can even reach 40 degrees if it exceeds 39 degrees.
In addition to the above symptoms, infected people also generally report nasal congestion and upper respiratory tract pain; In addition, some infected people have symptoms such as listlessness, insomnia, gastrointestinal discomfort, transient loss of taste and smell, and some people have symptoms such as mild heart discomfort, chest tightness, shortness of breath and difficulty breathing.
More than 70% patients have mild symptoms after infection, and 7 cases of severe and critical patients are young and middle-aged.
In March 2022, the National Health Commission issued the ninth edition of novel coronavirus's diagnosis and treatment plan, and classified patients into mild, ordinary, severe and critical types according to their symptoms.
According to the types of infected people in this questionnaire survey, 74.05% of the infected people are "mild", that is, they have slight fever, cough and no pneumonia, 15.82% are "ordinary", and they have fever, upper respiratory symptoms and pneumonia, and only 5.7% are asymptomatic. An asymptomatic infected person once told Southern Reporter that although his nucleic acid test result was.
Another 6 people showed "serious" symptoms, namely fever, cough and even shortness of breath. It is worth noting that these six people are all under 60 years old. Except for 2 injections of 1 person, all the others completed the whole course of vaccination, among which 1 person was infected with the basic disease, and it was found that the basic disease was obviously worsened.
Among 158 people, 1 infected person is "critical": he is less than 30 years old, has completed at least three doses of vaccination, and has respiratory failure, shock and interstitial pneumonia within 230 days of being treated in the hospital, so he has to use invasive ventilation and cardiopulmonary bypass. Respondents reported that their lung function was still impaired after being cured.
It is worth noting that in this round of Omicron epidemic, the elderly over 60 years old are generally considered as vulnerable groups. Due to the limited samples, only two elderly people were collected in this questionnaire. Both elderly people suffered from basic diseases and completed two injections and three or more intensive vaccinations respectively. After the infection, the two elderly people were "mild" and the basic diseases did not increase significantly.
Because the proportion of the elderly in this round of questionnaire is relatively low, it is impossible to make a detailed analysis and judgment on the infection situation of the elderly population. However, in the previous interview, Du Nan reporter found that many elderly people who have been vaccinated are slightly ill even if they have basic diseases, and they can recover smoothly, while those who have not been vaccinated are easy to turn into serious diseases.
A 79-year-old unvaccinated patient was unvaccinated because of diabetes and had no obvious symptoms at the initial stage of infection. Until the eighth night, he accidentally fell down, then had a fever of 40 degrees and kept coughing and wheezing. After admission, serious lung infection was found, and pleural effusion was only 88%. According to the ninth edition of COVID-19's diagnosis and treatment plan, oxygen saturation below 93% is considered as "serious". After continuous symptomatic treatment, the old man's nucleic acid turned negative and was discharged from hospital on the first 19 day after COVID-19's infection.
96.2% of the respondents said that they had no sequelae of COVID-19, and 98. 1% of the respondents had not encountered repeated infections.
Whether there are sequelae after recovery is a concern in this round of Omicron infection. A number of infectious disease experts said in an interview earlier that there was no evidence that COVID-19 Omicron would cause sequelae.
The results of this questionnaire survey show that 96.2% of people said that no sequelae were found. Of the 6 people who reported sequelae, 4 said that their taste was affected, such as decreased taste and sensitivity, while others said that they experienced fatigue, sore throat, dry eyes, forgetfulness or decreased motor ability.
Whether COVID-19 has sequelae is still inconclusive in the medical field. Some scholars refer to the loss of taste and smell, joint pain, memory loss, chest pain, cough and other symptoms after the negative results of nucleic acid test as "COVID-19", that is, the long-term symptoms of COVID-19. It is considered that "Chang Xin Guan" and "COVID-19 Sequela" are two different concepts, and the expression of Chang Xin Guan does not mention the permanence and irreversibility of sequela.
Another worry is the problem of repeated infection. The results of questionnaire survey show that 98. 1% of people are not infected repeatedly, but this may be because Omicron has just appeared in China and the population has not yet ushered in the second round of infection.
Dong Li, chief physician of infection department of Beijing You 'an Hospital and medical expert of Xiaotangshan Fangcang Hospital, told the media recently that although COVID-19 will gain immunity against the strain within a certain period of time after being infected, it does not mean that he will not be infected again. "Once infected, it is impossible to be immune for life. There are similar characteristics, such as flu. Because of the variety and rapid mutation of viruses, it is easy to escape from the human immune mechanism. This is also the reason why the flu vaccine should be vaccinated every year, because the probability of repeated infection is high. "
Du Nan previously reported the experience of two people with repeated infections. Both of them were vaccinated with two shots before the first infection, but the severity of symptoms after infection was different. When the interval between two infections exceeds 5 months, one of them is mild. The other one was infected for four times, except for the first time, which showed obvious symptoms such as fever, cough and muscle ache. At present, neither of them has any sequelae, but both of them said that repeated infections have gradually made them get used to Omicron and no longer panic about the disease.
Only 6.33% people are afraid of Omicron, and more than 80% people receive treatment at home.
Therefore, the symptoms of Omicron infection are mild, and people's fear of Omicron is actually being dispelled. According to the results of the questionnaire survey, only 6.33% people will feel fear, another 44.3% people will choose "worrying about influencing others", and 26.58% people will feel anxious about their psychological feelings after being infected with COVID-19. 33.54% people "don't care", 27.22% people said "a stone fell in their heart", and even 13.92% people felt excited.
In addition to symptoms, this questionnaire also investigates how long it takes to recover from Omicron infection. After excluding the "not recovered" answer, * * * got 136 valid answers. The results showed that the recovery time was 1 ~ 15 days, and about 5 adults could recover in 5 ~ 7 days. Among them, the number of people who recovered in 7 days was the largest, accounting for 29.4% of the total number, followed by 5 days, accounting for 17.6%. Most of the rest are within 5 days, and a few are over 7 days.
With this major shift in epidemic prevention policy, many experts and scholars call for family isolation treatment because of the mild symptoms after Omicron infection. The results of this round of questionnaire survey show that 83.54% of infected people have health monitoring at home, and the total number of people receiving treatment and monitoring in hospitals and shelters accounts for 1 1.39%, and 5.06% are in centralized isolation points such as hotels.
The Department of Infectious Diseases of Huashan Medical College affiliated to Fudan University also believes that 99.5% of people infected with Omicron can be treated at home with peace of mind, and only 0.5% need to go to the hospital. Infected people should learn to monitor symptoms, observe body temperature, pulse and blood oxygen saturation. When blood oxygen saturation drops below 95%, or there are symptoms such as persistent high fever and fever with obvious dyspnea, they should go to the hospital in time.
Drink plenty of water and eat common cold medicine, and nearly 40% choose to supplement high protein.
For most mild and common patients, how to deal with infection? The survey results show that most people will choose to drink more water, more than one-third will choose to eat high-protein foods such as eggs and milk, more than half will take cold medicine, and some will take multiple drugs at the same time. For example, some people will take cold medicine and painkillers such as "white plus black" and "Tylenol" at the same time, and some people will take traditional Chinese medicine or Chinese patent medicine on this basis.
Southern Reporter noticed that there have been many cases in which COVID-19 took drugs by mistake, which led to acute liver injury in hospital, and some even went to ICU. In this regard, many experts in the medical field said that common cold medicines such as "White Plus Black", "Tylenol" and some Chinese patent medicines such as "Ganmao Granules" all contain "acetaminophen". Some people take several cold medicines at the same time, and some people take painkillers after eating cold medicines, which leads to overdose, aggravation of visceral burden and even acute liver and kidney failure.
Experts advise not to take multiple cold medicines together. When taking medicine, it is best to read the instructions carefully to see if the active ingredients, especially acetaminophen, are repeated. Don't take antipyretics after taking cold medicine containing acetaminophen; Take only one medicine with the same effect, such as reducing fever. It is not recommended to take acetaminophen and ibuprofen alternately.
