Acupuncture and Moxibustion Department is one of the clinical departments of Chinese medicine, which undertakes the tasks of acupuncture and moxibustion clinic, teaching and research. There are 10 physicians, including 1 chief physician and 4 deputy chief physicians.

Li Shiliang, M.D., the current director and academic leader of the department, is the director of the Experimental Acupuncture Branch of the Chinese Acupuncture and Moxibustion Association, the executive director of the Beijing Acupuncture and Moxibustion Association, and an associate professor of the Peking University School of Medicine. Dr. Li has studied and worked in Japan, Switzerland and other countries, and has a comprehensive knowledge structure and rich clinical experience.

The department adheres to the academic direction of combining Chinese and Western medicine, and advocates the organic combination of traditional acupuncture methods with modern science and technology, and the organic combination of acupuncture treatment and drug treatment in clinical treatment. The department is equipped with various types of medical equipments such as laser therapy, pulse therapy, far and near infrared therapy, electrothermal moxibustion therapy, etc., which play an important role in improving the efficacy of acupuncture and moxibustion.

In line with the principle of human-centeredness, the department provides a relatively isolated treatment space for each patient to ensure the patient's need for privacy and a sense of security during the visit, and a comfortable environment for the visit.

Acupuncture and moxibustion clinical diagnosis and treatment scope includes:

1. Internal diseases: such as cerebrovascular disease sequelae, peripheral facial paralysis, headache, hypertension, insomnia, depression, obesity, gastrointestinal disorders, diabetes mellitus, bronchial asthma and so on.

2. Dermatologic and orthopedic diseases: such as acne, neurodermatitis, herpes zoster, chronic eczema, frozen shoulder, cervical and lumbar spine disease, tenosynovitis and tendon sheath cysts, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis and so on.

3. Urinary and reproductive system diseases: such as prostate disease, impotence, urinary retention, urinary incontinence, neurogenic dysuria, dysmenorrhea, menstrual irregularities, chronic pelvic inflammatory disease.
