What is the process of CMMI certification evaluation?

According to the requirements of ARC and ISO 15504, and the model of CMMI, SEI gives a method to describe SCAMPI. Class A description is to determine the evaluation of several process areas (PA, process area) at the group level according to the CMMI model, and determine the maturity level of the organization. A-level description must be completed under the leadership of the chief appraiser authorized by SEI. As far as the evaluation process is concerned, its purpose is how to objectively determine the working state of the organization, so the most important thing is how to collect information and make judgments accordingly. SCAMPI divides the whole evaluation into three stages:

Phase 1: planning and preparing the CMMI evaluation process.

Complete the preparation and setting of the evaluation process, including determining the target (evaluation level), establishing the person in charge (evaluation team), working scope (evaluation organization scope and process domain scope), evaluation plan (time, progress and resources) and other activities.

Stage 2: Perform CMMI assessment

According to the plan made in 1, collect and analyze data, determine the problems found and score them. It mainly collects data covering all process fields and all stages of the project life cycle, and at the same time can characterize the process capability of hierarchical organizations. In this process, it is necessary to repeat the collection and analysis activities many times until the corresponding goals are reached, and then determine the corresponding findings and confirm the junior high school evaluation of each process area, which is the basis for the evaluation of process capability level and organizational maturity.

The third stage: report the conclusion of CMMI

The evaluation team will submit the corresponding evaluation conclusions to the evaluation organizer and the evaluated unit. According to the requirements of the organization, archive the corresponding evaluation data, and keep some data confidential as planned. Submit the evaluation conclusion to CMMI standardization organization.
