The first robot was invented by Mr. Engelberg, who is known as the "Father of Robotics".
Engelberg, one of the world's most renowned roboticists, made an outstanding contribution to the creation of the robotics industry when he founded Unimation in 1958 and developed the world's first industrial robot in 1959.
In 1956, Engelberg bought George DeVore's patent for a "programmed parts transfer device," and in 1957, with $3 million in angel investment, they founded Unimation, a universal automation company and the world's first robotics company. 1959, a 2-ton but 1/100th of a millimeter robot was built. In 1959, Unimation, the world's first industrial robot, was born, a 2-ton behemoth with 1/10,000-inch accuracy. They made an outstanding contribution to the creation of the robotics industry.
Expanded:
In 1983, Engelberg and his colleagues sold the Unimation to Westinghouse, created TRC, and began developing service robots.
In 1988, Engelberg's new company began selling Nurse's Aide medical robots. Relying on a large number of sensors, the nurse's aide was able to move freely in hospitals and assist nurses with services such as delivering meals, medication and mail, and was the ancestor of "The Incredibles'" "Big White". The service robotics company was acquired in the late 1990s.
