What is called uled TV

ULED is the LCD TV technology launched by Hisense, ULED of the U Department of Ultra abbreviation, meaning extreme, ultra-high, implying better LED.

Through the multi-partition independent backlight control and HiView Picture Engine technology, Hisense ULED compared to the traditional LED can achieve more than 10 times the contrast ratio and more than 30% of the color gamut range enhancement, the performance of the completely No less than OLED; and in terms of brightness and technical maturity, it has more advantages than OLED.

Chinese Electronic Video Industry Association research found that nearly 50% of consumers believe that ULED TV is more colorful than 4K TVs, and 40% of consumers believe that ULED TVs have a high resolution and a clearer picture. And in terms of picture quality performance, 77.0% of consumers think ULED TVs have higher clarity.

The initial phase of ULED technology research and development was supported by a project of the National Development and Reform Commission, titled "R&D and Industrialization of LED Backlight and its Key Materials for Liquid Crystal Displays," as well as a major special project of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of 2014 for the research and development of key technologies for professional (medical) display modules and industrialization innovation.

ULED has obtained 13 invention patents, including the U.S. and European patent authorization, breaking the situation in which major display technology innovations were dominated by foreign companies.

ULED has developed to version 3.0 and realized 8K display with wider color gamut and higher contrast ratio than OLED.
