Brief introduction of silicone ring

Silicone ring is a kind of sealing ring! Silica gel is a rubber material. Because of its special properties, wide temperature range and excellent chemical properties, it is called special rubber together with fluororubber. Silica gel is widely used to make all kinds of seals.

Silica gel ring is a kind of saturated nonpolar rubber, which is formed by silicon atoms attached to methyl, vinyl and other side chains based on silicon elements obtained from time to time. Different side chains will lead to different characteristics of silicone rubber. Methyl vinyl silicone rubber (VMQ) is a widely used silicone rubber material.

The silica gel ring has excellent heat resistance, low-temperature elasticity, especially excellent oxidation resistance and ozone resistance, and high air permeability and gas permeability selectivity. Good electrical insulation (volume resistance greater than10 Ω cm, breakdown voltage above 30kv/mm), corona resistance and arc resistance. However, adding conductive carbon black, nickel powder, aluminum powder and silver powder can obtain appropriate conductivity (volume resistance can reach 5-0.02 Ω cm). Silica gel ring has low surface energy and low hygroscopicity, which can play an isolation role. Water resistance, but poor water vapor resistance, pressure over 50psi is not recommended. Compatible with most oils, chemicals and solvents. Generally, silicone rubber has good acid and alkali resistance, acceptable tolerance to polar solvents, and no tolerance to alkyl hydrogen and aromatic oil products. It is not recommended to use in most concentrated solvents, oils, concentrated acids and dilute caustic soda solutions. Special silicone rubber also has radiation resistance, fire resistance and oil resistance. Low tensile strength, weak wear resistance, generally not used for dynamic sealing.
