Biography of Zheng Kuisan

Born in 1918, at the age of 16 he studied medicine with his father, a native of Anguo, Hebei. Member of the Chinese **** Party. Graduated from the Ministry of Health's School of Further Training in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

In 1947, he took the examination for Chinese medicine practitioner in Beijing;

In 1951, he graduated from the Chinese Medicine Training School of the Ministry of Health;

In 1954, he became the attending physician at the North China Experimental Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine and treated the central government chief in the infirmary of the State Council;

In 1955, he merged with the Acupuncture and Moxibustion Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine and became the head of the Needle Three Room, and gave the acupuncture and moxibustion senior teacher class, Foreign experts class, international class teaching;

1970 devolved into the county hospital as deputy chief physician;

1982 transferred to Gansu College of Traditional Chinese Medicine as a professor, honorary director of the Department of Acupuncture and Moxibustion, master's degree tutor; has served as the honorary director of the Chinese Acupuncture and Moxibustion Association, acupuncture and moxibustion branch of the United States and the International Institute of Holistic Medicine, honorary chairman of the Acupuncture and Moxibustion Association, Gansu, honorary chairman of Zheng's Acupuncture and Moxibustion Research Association. Honorary President of Gansu Acupuncture Society, Honorary President of Zheng's Acupuncture Research Association, Visiting Professor of Goto Gakuen in Japan and Oriental Medicine College in England, Professor of China Acupuncture Expert Lecturer Group, Editorial Board member of World Acupuncture and Moxibustion Magazine (English version) and Chinese Journal of Modern Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Expert Member of World UNESCO, etc. He has published 66 papers. In 1958, his paper "Research on Retinal Hemorrhage by Hot Tonic Acupuncture" was awarded the Scientific Research Achievement Prize by the Ministry of Health;

In 1996, "Experimental Research on Experimental Rheumatoid Arthritis in Rabbits by Burning Mountain Fire Acupuncture" was awarded the Outstanding Paper of the American International Conference on Traditional Medicine. Outstanding Thesis Award of International Traditional Medicine Conference of the United States;

In 1999, "Research on the Effect of Hot Tonic Acupuncture on the Adrenal Cortex of Mice with Kidney Yang Deficiency" was awarded the Gold Prize of the International Thesis Competition of the New Medicine Hua Tuo Cup, and was listed in the "Dictionary of Famous Doctors and Experts of the Republic of China"

Thesis Research on the prevention and control of rabbit hyperlipidemia by hot tonic needle method" was loaded into the "Chinese Famous Physician's High-tech Diagnosis and Treatment Dictionary" and was awarded the Famous Physician's Gold Prize; 14 volumes of monographs were published, among which, "Acupuncture and Moxibustion Collection" was awarded the First Prize of the Outstanding Work of Gansu Province's New Long March, and it was translated into Japanese and published by Kyoto Traditional Chinese Medicine Association of Japan in 1983; and "Ziwu Liujin and Lingguo Bafa".
