What is the National Health Commission?

The National Health Commission is a department of the State Council. It was established based on the National Health and Family Planning Commission and integrated the health management functions formerly undertaken by other departments.

The main responsibilities of the National Health Commission are to formulate national health policies, coordinate and promote the deepening of the reform of the medical and health system, organize the formulation of the national essential medicine system, supervise and manage public health, medical services, and health emergencies, and are responsible for Family planning management and services, formulating policies and measures to deal with the aging of the population and the integration of medical and nursing care.
