The next step is to focus on the keyboard dock. From HP's official color page, the HP Pro x2 612 G1 is compatible with 81/82-key island drain splash-proof with keyboard dock; 81/82-key island drain splash-proof keyboard backlit with keyboard dock; and 81/82-key island drain splash-proof backlit keyboard for travel, so users can choose the configuration that suits them.

For the test sample, it opted for the basic "81/82 key island drain with keyboard dock", which offers a full-size chocolate keyboard with drainage holes underneath to quickly remove spilled liquids from the keyboard. The keyboard base also has a built-in second battery, which prioritizes the use of the base battery before using the battery in the tablet portion of the device during use.
▲Interface Configuration
In terms of interfaces, the HP Pro x2 612 G1 keyboard dock features a DisplayPort 1.2 port, a USB 3.0 port, a USB 3.0 charging port, a docking port, a headphone/microphone jack, an RJ-45 network port, and a VGA port.
HP Pro x2 612 G1 tablet part of the dimensions of 307 × 210 × 12.8 mm, weighing 0.92 kg, inserted in the delivery of the test version of the keyboard base dimensions of 317 240 × 23.3 mm, weighing 1.9 kg, relative to the traditional model of 12.5-inch laptop, Ultrabook, said the HP Pro x2 612 G1 is slightly thicker.
Hardware Configuration Focuses on Practicality Performance Meets Basic Work
The HP Pro x2 612 G1 has not upgraded to the latest Core M processor in the hardware section, but follows the previous generation of solutions introduced by Intel for 2-in-1 devices, ultra-thin and light, configured with a fourth-generation smart Core i3-4012Y processor, which has a TDP of 11.5W, which is 23% lower than the 15W TDP of most Ultrabooks using the U-series processors, but compared to the 4.5W of the Core M-series, the 4th Generation Core i3-4012Y is still relatively high in terms of power consumption.
Fourth Generation Core i3-4012Y has 2 physical cores, 4 threads, and a 1.5GHz clock, which is an entry level CINEBENCH R15 test result that can satisfy basic office applications such as word processing, form editing, and PPT creation.
▲PCmark 8 Creative
PCmark 8 is a new generation of PC benchmarking software that provides five different tests, namely, Home, Creative, Work, Storge, and Applications, for different modes of computing. Storge tests the storage performance and stability of the computer, while Applications tests third-party software such as Microsoft Office. We tested the Pro x2 612 G1 against the Creative, and from the final results, we can see that the total score of 2,041 points is at the lower end of the range for mainstream laptops, and the performance of the machine can meet the needs of daily applications.
▲PCmark 8 Storge
Subject to the limitations of the body volume, HP Pro x2 612 G1 choose 128GB SSD, sent for testing the product using the SSD model SanDisk?SD6SF1M-128G, with Marvell 9175 main controller chip, the maximum read speed of 505MB/s, the maximum write speed of 305MB/s, using mSATA 6Gbps interface, from the PCmark 8 Storge project test results, comprehensively beyond the mechanical hard disk and hybrid hard disk equipped with the product, the daily use of the process is quite smooth.
▲Half an hour of full-load PC playback
In terms of heat generation, the Pro x2 612 G1's keyboard is quite cool due to the fact that the main hardware is focused on the tablet portion of the device, however, due to the ultra-thin body of the tablet portion of the device and the TDP of the 11.5W processor, the Pro x2 612 G1 generates a lot of heat when it's fully loaded, which isn't the case with the processor we're using every day. But we don't always use our processors at full load in our day-to-day lives, so Intel has come up with Scenario Design Power (SDP), which is another thermal power reference point that aims to represent the usage of the device in question in a real-world environment in the form of thermal power.
▲Backside Temperature Distribution for Power-On Idle
For the 4th Gen Core i3-4012Y, which has an SDP of 4.5W, which allows the Pro x2 612 G1 to achieve a fan-less design in terms of heat generation, we took backside heat distributions for three scenarios of it being powered on with no load, web browsing, and 4K Ultra HD playback (at an ambient temperature of 26 degrees Celsius ).
▲Web browsing backside temperature distribution
The temperature on the backside of the Pro x2 612 G1 is indeed quite a bit lower compared to a fully loaded copier, but there is still an increase in heat generation in real-world applications compared to doing nothing, except that the temperature increase is not significant in most areas, and only a small portion of the area has significant heat buildup, which has a small impact on daily use.
▲4K Ultra HD playback temperature distribution on the back of the body
In the endurance section, the HP Pro x2 612 G1 tested with the help of the tablet's built-in 31Wh battery and the keyboard dock's 24Wh battery, with the screen at 40%, its MobileMark 2012 Office mode battery life test reached 387 minutes (6 hours 27 minutes). ), which provides long battery life during real-world applications.
▲MobileMark 2012 scores with battery dock
With the keyboard dock removed, the MobileMark 2012 Office Mode battery life for the HP?Pro x2 612 G1 tablet portion of the device tested at 272 minutes (4 hours, 32 minutes) with the same settings.

Summary:
In summary, the HP Pro x2 612 G1 not only has all of the features expected of a business notebook, but also transfers the security, compatibility, and manageability of a business notebook to a tablet. The pluggable design allows users to seamlessly switch between the tablet and the laptop. At the same time a variety of keyboard base, optional stylus, optional 3G network module, optional fingerprint recognition, optional smart card reader and other configurations to increase the flexibility of the user's purchase, increase the scope of the product trial, is a more all-rounded business two-in-one notebook.
