Seeing as she smiles quite happily every day, how did she get depressed?

"Look, she usually smiles a lot and has a lot of friends. Why is she depressed?"

"My friend seems to be depressed. What can I do?"

"I've been having insomnia every day lately, and I want to cry whenever something happens. Am I sick?"

"Can I get better just by taking medication?"

"Nothing. . yes. Nothing. The tears won't flow. My fingers won't move. My eyes are still open, but I can't see anything. While the respiratory pulse still existed, the brain seemed like a machine that had been so badly damaged that it had to format itself and could no longer start. Hunger, pain, sleepiness, sadness all sensations were gone. There was a deep black hole in the body that absorbed, devoured, and emptied, and all that was left was the walking dead."

"There seems to be a black hole in your body. Sometimes it's erratic, obscure, invisible, and confusing. Sometimes raging and rampant, they come up and devour you. Kind of like raising another ghost. A wild beast. Sometimes it sleeps so peacefully that you think it's not even there. Sometimes it's out of control, infinite in its intensity, and the sky is turned upside down. I have to die with you."

Maybe you've heard someone close to you describe what it's like to be depressed and wished there was something you could do to help TAs, but because you don't know about depression and what it's like, you're worried that you'll say something inappropriate that will make things worse.

Perhaps sometimes you're depressed and have suddenly lost interest in things you used to enjoy; where you used to be full of anticipation and motivation, now you don't want to do anything. You just feel like the future is engulfed in a thick fog and getting farther and farther away from you. Happiness becomes a fleeting moment and you don't know how to make yourself happy. Yet this feeling is hard to explain and describe, so you continue to face the people around you as usual, trying to hide your confusion.

No matter which path you choose, life will always encounter its darkest moments. Giving TA the right companionship when those around her are in deep darkness won't necessarily change her life, but it will help her walk through the toughest path. When we are in the midst of chaos and don't know where we are going, if we can find the right path, maybe life will be completely different.

A 90-year-old girl who has suffered from depression for more than a decade has authentically and bravely documented her journey from illness to treatment. She records the pain she experienced, the choices she faced, and the causes and consequences she traced along the way, turning them into a book with words and drawings.

Mei said that "depression" as an opportunity, triggered her to think y about a series of problems that everyone may encounter in life: family background, intimate relationships, stereotypes, the conflict between dreams and reality, the way to achieve self-realization, and the pressure that may be faced. Looking back on those dark days, it is not strength and oppression that suppressed evil spirits and filled the black holes, but the seemingly powerless flowers that meandered to life.

December 7 (Saturday) 14:30-16:30, Simple Psychology and Depression Institute invited Manga to the Beijing "Simple Psychology Room" to share with us how she faced and came out of the darkest moments of her life. As Manchu said, "It needs to be tapped, recognized and understood. More people need to stand together after exchanging needed goods and realize: this is it. That's what this is about. Turns out I'm not alone. Turns out we all tried."
