Standard for total heavy metal content of medical devices

Must not exceed 50 milligrams. Hospital regulations, the total heavy metal content of medical devices shall not exceed 50 milligrams per kilogram. Medical devices are instruments, equipment, apparatus, in vitro diagnostic reagents and calibrators, materials and other similar or related items used directly or indirectly in the human body, including the required computer software.
