PP: Odorless, nontoxic, tasteless, in line with national hygiene standards, with low density, it is the lightest plastic. Can be boiled in water, 120 degree steam sterilization, 100 degree long-term use without deformation. At the same time, it has excellent electrical insulation and chemical stability, hardly absorbs water, and has no effect when it comes into contact with most chemicals. PP is resistant to corrosion, acid and alkali, etc.
The disadvantages are poor impact resistance at low temperature and easy aging, but they can be overcome by modifying and adding antioxidants respectively.
PVC:PVC has poor thermal stability. It began to soften at 80℃ and decomposed at 130℃, releasing HCL gas. The electrical insulation of PVC is not as good as that of PP, and it is generally suitable for medium and low voltage and low frequency insulation materials. PVC can resist most inorganic acids, alkalis, salts and most organic solvents.
The price of PP board is generally 20-35 yuan per kilogram, and that of PVC board ranges from 5-20 yuan per kilogram. Different grades of plates have different prices. The same 1CM thick PP board is about 9.5 kg per square meter, while PVC board is about 18 kg per square meter.
