Noah's Ark was discovered on Mount Ararat in eastern Turkey.
Noah's Ark is an allusion to the fact that Noah's Ark, from the Bible, was a large vessel built so that Noah, his family, and the world's assorted land creatures could escape an unprecedented and annihilating flood.
In 2010 an expedition from Hong Kong, China, and Turkey announced that they had discovered the remains of Noah's Ark at an altitude of more than 4,000 meters in the Ararat Mountains of eastern Turkey and had managed to get inside the giant wooden structure, where the explorers also found pottery, ropes, and seed-like objects.
Noah's Ark discovery:
The researchers were ecstatic about the discovery of seven larger ancient wooden structures buried under snow and volcanic ash in Mount Ararat. "We can't claim with 100 percent certainty that this is the Noah's Ark site, but we are 99.9 percent certain," said Yuan Wenhui, head of the joint research team.
The wooden structure at the survey site is located at an altitude of 4,000 meters above sea level and dates back to 2,800 B.C., they said. If it is indeed the site of Noah's Ark, it would be the single greatest discovery in the history of archaeology and confirm the Biblical story.
The team, which was formed by Noah's Ark International in Hong Kong, China, and Turkish researchers, has been searching for the site of Noah's Ark since October, according to reports.
April 28, at a news conference research team member Li Yaohui spoke said, see by planks of ancient wooden structure, each plank width of 20 centimeters wide, but also saw tenon and mortise, which is the ancient man did not use iron nails before the building parts. About 100 meters apart will see another wooden structure, I saw damaged wooden fragments inserted into the glacier, some fragments are 20 meters long.
