The predecessor of China University of Geosciences is Beijing Geological College, which was established in 1952 by merging the geological departments of Peking University, Tsinghua University, Tianjin University and Tangshan Railway College, etc. Over the past 60 years, the university has gone through a tortuous process of establishment, development, relocation, reconstruction and revitalization.
