Laboratory buildings and facilities according to quality management standards in blood station laboratories

5.1 Laboratory buildings and facilities should comply with the provisions of the "General Requirements for Laboratory Biosafety" and the "General Guidelines for Biosafety in Microbiological and Biomedical Laboratories".

5.2 The experimental rooms and auxiliary rooms of the laboratory should meet the needs of blood testing work to ensure the safe and effective implementation of blood testing.

5.3 The laboratory should be kept hygienic and tidy, have facilities to ensure ambient temperature and humidity, and continuously monitor and record environmental conditions. There are safety protection and first aid facilities and relevant work safety signs.

5.4 The laboratory should be equipped with emergency power supply to ensure normal blood testing work.

5.5 Testing operation areas should be divided according to the testing process and testing items, including at least sample receiving, processing and storage areas, reagent storage areas, and testing areas. In the operation areas of different types of testing projects, measures should be taken to prevent cross-contamination. The layout and facilities of other special areas should comply with corresponding requirements.

5.6 Employees’ living areas should be equipped with appropriate living facilities, including places and facilities for hygiene, rest, and dressing. The employee rest area and work area should be relatively independent.

5.7 There should be a safe and reliable storage place for dangerous goods such as flammable, explosive, highly toxic and corrosive goods. The inventory amount and storage conditions should comply with relevant regulations, and a Chemical Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) should be prepared for storing hazardous chemicals.

5.8 Fire protection, sewage treatment, medical waste treatment and other facilities comply with relevant national regulations.
