In March 1978, the construction of the ward renovation project of Xuanwu Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine began.
1980, Beijing Xuanwu District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine newly built outpatient building and ward building was completed.

In 2000, the Vasculitis Department of Xuanwu Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine was approved by the Beijing Municipal Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine as a "Beijing Municipal Key Specialty of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Specialized Diseases)", and it was also identified as "Beijing Municipal Medical Center of Traditional Chinese Medicine Specialized Diseases of Vasculitis".
In 2003, the Respiratory Department was established and the Respiratory Ward was set up.
In 2005, "Beijing Xuanwu District Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine Geriatrics Specialty" was officially approved as the key specialty of Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine Administration.
In 2006, the Department of Respiratory Medicine of Xuanwu Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine collaborated with Dongfang Hospital of Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine to establish the "Beijing Respiratory Disease Chinese Medicine Specialty Diagnostic and Treatment Center", which was approved by Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine Administration.
In 2006, the Department of Gastroenterology was established, and in the same year, the Department of Gastroenterology purchased Japanese olympus Q260 high-definition electronic gastroscope and enteroscope and equipped with real-time video recording, color printing, and endoscopy center workstations and high-frequency electrosurgery and other therapeutic equipments, and established the Gastroenterological Endoscopy Diagnostic and Treatment Center.
In 2006, Xuanwu Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Department of Geriatrics, in collaboration with Xiyuan Hospital of China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, approved by the Beijing Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine in our hospital to establish the "Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine Geriatric Characteristic Diagnosis and Treatment Center".
In 2006, our hospital set up the Tianqiao Community Service Center
In 2007, the Department of Vascular Disease of Xuanwu Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine collaborated with the Department of Peripheral Vascular Disease of Dongzhimen Hospital of Beijing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and established the Beijing TCM Peripheral Vascular Disease Diagnostic and Treatment Center at our hospital with the approval of the Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine Administration.
In 2007, the renovation and remodeling project of the gastroenterology ward of our hospital was completed, and patients began to be admitted.
In 2007, the Department of Gastroenterology of Xuanwu Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine was honored as the "Eleventh Five-Year" Key Specialty Construction Unit of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
In 2008, the Department of Gastroenterology of Xuanwu Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine was listed as the leader of the Irritable Bowel Syndrome Subgroup of the Spleen and Stomach Disease Collaboration Group of the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the 11th Five-Year Plan, focusing on "Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Functional Dyspepsia, Ulcerative Colitis, and other Spleen and Stomach Diseases.
In 2008, the company was awarded the title of "The best hospital in the world".
In 2008, the Geriatrics Department of Xuanwu Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine was selected for the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine for the collaboration of geriatrics key specialties (Stroke Disease Group) project, and the Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Xiyuan Hospital of China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which specializes in the treatment of hypertension, hypertension, and hypertension of the elderly, as well as the treatment of stroke.
