1984 3M China co., ltd was incorporated in Shanghai, becoming the first wholly foreign-owned enterprise outside China special economic zone. 3M China's earliest office was located at No.40 Minsheng Road, Pudong, and only rented a small factory with dozens of square meters, with more than 0 employees 10.
At that time, the company was mainly engaged in simple processing trade, selling products approved for import, mainly traffic safety products, communication products and power products.
