The predecessor of the college was Nanyang University, which was founded at the end of 1986 to meet the needs of Nanyang's scientific and technological progress and talent strategy.
At the end of 1992, the college was formally approved to be established by the State Education Commission after the evaluation by the National Colleges and Universities Setting Review Committee, and was named Nanyang Institute of Technology.
In May, 2004, approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, the college was upgraded to be a bachelor's degree college. In May 2004, approved by the Ministry of Education, Nanyang Polytechnic was upgraded to an undergraduate college, which is a general undergraduate college with engineering as the main subject, and with the coordinated development of multiple disciplines, such as engineering, management, literature, science, law, medicine, economy and education.
Nanyang Normal College
Nanyang Normal College was founded in 1907, with a history of one hundred years, is a full-time general undergraduate institution of higher education under the province of Henan Province. After the liberation of Nanyang, in July 1949, approved by the provincial education department, Nanyang special department in the old China Nanyang Normal Education on the basis of the establishment of a new teacher training school. 1951 September the formation of Henan Province Nanyang Normal School. After that, the school moved three school sites, three school name change, through the vicissitudes of life. 2000 March by the Ministry of Education approved by the Nanyang Normal Higher Specialized School and Nanyang College of Education merged to form the Nanyang Normal College.
Henan Industrial Vocational and Technical College
College was founded in 1973, in April 1979, the school moved to Nanyang City, Henan Province, in 1994 and 2000 was twice named a national key secondary specialized schools. 2000 school merged with the Luoyang University of Weapons Industry Workers, in April 2001 was upgraded to higher vocational and technical colleges.
Nanyang Medical College
School is Nanyang Health School and Zhang Zhongjing Medical College in May 2004 by the Ministry of Education approved the merger, upgraded to Nanyang Medical College. Among them, Nanyang Health School, founded in 1951; Nanyang Zhang Zhongjing National Medical College (former Zhang Zhongjing National Medical University), founded in 1985.
Nanyang Radio and Television University
Nanyang Radio and Television University was founded in 1979, is approved by the provincial and municipal governments to establish a school of higher learning, is the central broadcasting and television university system of the intermediate link, is a modern electronic information technology for modern distance education, a comprehensive open university.
It is worth mentioning that Nanyang is now a high school and secondary schools have fully realized the double holiday vacation system, the majority of high school and secondary school students!
