Seeing that everyone was so positive, Coco?decided to check the authenticity of the message immediately.

She asked her relatives who work in a hospital in Wuhan, "I did a little checking with them, probably told them what happened, and then they gave me feedback and probably talked about the general environment. I came to the conclusion that the information is true," Coco? said.

After confirming the authenticity of the news, she started a donation campaign in the group. According to her, the response to this donation was particularly fast, and basically all of them donated around 500 yuan, which was a very supportive gesture from the enthusiasts.

There's another group of enthusiasts to talk about here - the Tesla?TΞSLA?owners group.

Heng Quan (hereinafter referred to as Mr. ?H?) is the owner of the Tesla ?TΞSLA? Owners Group, and also a friend of ?Coco? After seeing the news Mr. ?H? also has the intention to donate.

On Jan. 25, after learning that TLC had launched a donation campaign, Mr. H? discussed with Coco? to do this together. According to Mr. ?H?, most of the car enthusiasts in the group were very supportive, so he started organizing people to donate.

Difficulties at first

The donations didn't go as smoothly as expected, and while most people could relate, it was always just the majority. when Mr. ?H? asked for the opinions of the group's enthusiasts, he was met with skepticism by a small number of them.

Coco told me that there are two things that Mr. H?s side questioned:

One is that there are some people who feel that donating to the cause is a personal gain, and they feel that the purpose of doing so is to make a name for themselves or something else.

The second is that some people think that the information is not true, and that it may just be hype, and they think that the hospital is not that short of supplies, and even if it is, it will be fixed in a couple of days.

Coco said, "They think the country will solve the problem of masks soon, and it's not our turn to take care of it, and our power is just a drop in the bucket. They're optimistic, and they don't think that what we're doing is really going to help the medical staff.

In fact, what the state can do to help is mainly in the places where the disaster is more serious, and it is difficult to take care of the rest. For example, if we donate to a certain hospital in Huanggang, they are very short of supplies."

So she thinks it would be quite helpful for the hospital if the supplies were delivered as soon as possible.

And for the medical staff, in addition to the help of supplies, there is also some emotional comfort. Because there will be some small problems between doctors and patients, making the doctors more upset. Through this donation in Wuhan, they can also feel a lot of love from the society.

Because they all had to verify the quality of the materials, logistics and other issues, and there were more than a dozen suppliers, so they needed to be asked one by one.

Donate supplies, not donations

While the car clubs on both sides were donating, Mr. H?s side was also looking for supplier channels and contacting logistics.

As for why he didn't donate directly, but chose to donate supplies.

Mr. H? said, "In fact, there is no shortage of money, the collection of the Wuhan Charity Federation, or similar organizations. But we're also concerned that some organizations don't seem to be distributing the donations wisely, so we don't donate money, we donate supplies directly.?"

According to him, the supplies were better back then, and it was easier to procure them because the state hadn't officially taken over the private mask factories when they were purchasing them. But now that the state has taken over, it's harder.

"At that time, we also saw a lot of news that the supplies donated over there could not be used in hospitals, not up to medical standards. Difficulties other than questioning

In addition to the initial difficulties, Mr. H?said it was also more difficult to find suppliers of the supplies, which were referred to him by his friends or other methods.

As for the source of materials, we mainly look for channels through our own social relations, or cooperate with other foundations and civil organizations. We consolidate the funds and then give them the responsibility of producing or buying the supplies, and finally our car club fleet is responsible for transportation.

Of course, organizing this kind of activity will encounter difficulties, some people will think we are doing business, suspecting that we are doing this to make money. And then there is the need to be prepared to eat instant noodles on a regular basis.

Public service activities experience sharing
