Veterans mental illness policy

Legal analysis: junior non-commissioned officers suffering from mental illness are assessed as having disabilities of the first to the fourth degree, and conscripts who have been assessed as having disabilities of the first to the fourth degree as a result of disability arising out of war, public service, or illness are supported by the state for the rest of their lives. The central financial authorities shall provide appropriate subsidies to the hospitals receiving ex-servicemen with grade one to grade four disabilities and serious mental illness for such expenses as additional beds, medical equipment and housing maintenance.

Legal basis: "disabled soldiers retired and resettled"

Article 5: Officers and civilian cadres who are disabled as a result of war or public service, and who are assessed to have a disability of grade one to grade six, or who are medically certified to be basically incapacitated for work after the expiration of the period of medical treatment for their illnesses may be resettled as retired.

Retirement and resettlement of disabled officers and civilian cadres shall be approved in accordance with the authority for appointment and removal of posts.

Article 6 Non-commissioned Officers who have been assessed as disabled from Grade 1 to Grade 4 due to war or duty, or who have been medically certified as basically incapable of work after the expiration of the medical treatment period due to illness may be retired and resettled.

Non-commissioned officers with disabilities shall be retired and resettled by the military affairs departments of the military district-level units for approval.

Article VII of the junior non-commissioned officers suffering from mental illness is assessed as the first to the fourth level of disability, conscripts due to war, service, disease disability is assessed as the first to the fourth level of disability, by the state support for life; is assessed as the fifth and sixth level of disability, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the State for resettlement.

Non-commissioned officers who are disabled due to war, public service, or illness meet the conditions for retirement, and voluntarily give up the retirement settlement, they can choose to be supported by the state for life.
