How many categories of occupational diseases are classified and cataloged by the Classification and Catalog of Occupational Diseases

How many categories of occupational diseases are classified by the Classification and Catalog of Occupational Diseases:

The Classification and Catalog of Occupational Diseases divides occupational diseases into three categories.

Occupational diseases are a series of health problems caused by prolonged exposure to an occupationally hazardous substance or in a specific work environment. In order to better manage and prevent occupational diseases, China's Ministry of Health issued the Classification and Catalog of Occupational Diseases (hereinafter referred to as the Catalog) in 2002, which classifies occupational diseases into three categories.

I. Classification of Pneumoconiosis

Pneumoconiosis is a class of occupational diseases caused by the inhalation, deposition and retention of dust in the human body. Its main manifestation is damage to the respiratory system, such as chest tightness, shortness of breath, coughing and so on.

The category of pneumoconiosis includes:

1, silicosis, commonly found in quarrying, sand and gravel industries;

2, asbestosis, commonly found in mining, construction and ship-repairing industries;

3, coal worker's pneumoconiosis, commonly found in coal miners;

4, cotton-dust pneumoconiosis, commonly found in textile and cotton processing industries;

5, scleroderma , common in chromic acid and its compounds operators.

Two, poisoning disease category

Toxicity disease is due to inhalation, through the skin or digestive tract ingestion of a toxic substance caused by a class of occupational diseases. The degree of poisoning and symptoms generally vary depending on the time of exposure, mode of exposure, dose and other factors.

The categories of poisoning diseases include:

1, heavy metal poisoning, such as lead, mercury, cadmium poisoning;

2, chemical poisoning, such as cyanide, organic solvents, pesticides, etc.;

3, radioactive poisoning, such as radioactive elements of the operator.

Three, occupational injury disease category

Occupational injury disease is a category of occupational diseases caused by long-term acceptance of some biological, physical, psychological factors of stimulation. These factors can be sound, vibration, electromagnetic waves, radiation, etc., can also be continuous high pressure, high temperature, low temperature, etc..

The category of occupational injury diseases includes:

1, noise deafness, commonly found in machinery, shipbuilding, construction and other industries;

2, vibration disease, commonly found in coal mining, transportation and other industries;

3, ionizing radiation disease, commonly found in the nuclear industry, medical equipment operators and so on;

4, occupational skin disease, commonly found in printing, cosmetics production and paint workers, and other industries.

In short, the classification and catalog of occupational diseases can provide strong support for the management and prevention of occupational diseases. Each industry should establish a sound occupational disease protection system and strengthen the monitoring of occupational disease hazards to protect the health of employees.
