Introduction to Export Certification for Foreign Trade
Do you know what safety certificates your products need to pass in other countries? What do these certification marks mean? Currently, there are 21 internationally renowned certification marks and their meanings that dominate the world. Check out the following certifications that your products have passed.
1. CE marking
CE marking is a safety certification mark, which is regarded as the manufacturer's passport to open and enter the European market.CE stands for European harmonization (CONFORMITEEUROPEENNE). All products bearing the "CE" mark can be sold in EU member states without having to meet the requirements of each member state, thus realizing the free flow of goods within EU member states.
2, RoHS certification
RoHS is an acronym for the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive, which lists six hazardous substances, including lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium Cr6+, polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) and polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs). RoHS was implemented in the European Union on July 1, 2006. electrical and electronic products that use or contain heavy metals, PBDEs, PBBs and other flame retardants are not allowed to enter the EU market. roHS targets all electrical and electronic products that may contain the six hazardous substances mentioned above in the production process and raw materials, mainly including white items such as refrigerators, washing machines, microwave ovens, air conditioners, vacuum cleaners, water heaters, etc., black items such as audio and video products, DVDs, CDs, TV receivers, IT products, digital products,, communication products, etc.; power tools, electric and electronic toys, and medical electrical equipment
For example, when a customer asks if there is a RoHS, he should ask if he needs a finished RoHS or an original RoHS. some factories are not able to produce a finished RoHS. The price including RoHS is usually 10-20% higher than normal products.
3, UL certification
UL is the abbreviation for Underwriter Laboratories Inc. UL Safety Testing Institute is the most authoritative organization in the United States, and a large non-governmental organization engaged in safety testing and certification. It is an independent, non-profit professional organization that conducts experiments for public **** safety. It uses scientific testing methods to study and determine whether various materials, devices, products, equipment, buildings, etc., are harmful to life and property as well as the degree of harm; to determine, prepare and publish appropriate standards and materials that help reduce and prevent loss of life and property, and to conduct fact-finding operations. In short, it is mainly engaged in product safety certification and operational safety certification. Its ultimate goal is to obtain products with comparable safety standards for the market and to contribute to the safeguarding of human health and property.UL also plays a positive role in promoting the development of international trade as an effective means of eliminating technical barriers to international trade.UL is not required to enter the United States.
4, FDA certification
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is referred to as the FDA. FDA is the U.S. government in the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and the Department of Public **** Health (PHS) set up by one of the executive agencies. FDA is responsible for ensuring that U.S. production or imported food, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, biological agents, medical devices, and radiological products of the safety of the United States. 9 - 11 after the incident, the U.S. public believes that the U.S. government is not responsible for the safety of products. 11, the American public recognized the need to effectively improve the safety of the food supply. Last June, after passing the Public **** Health Security and Bioterrorism Prevention and Response Act of 2002, the U.S. Congress appropriated $500 million to authorize the FDA to develop specific rules to implement the Act. The legislation provides that the FDA will assign a special registration number to each applicant for registration. Food products exported to the United States by foreign establishments must be reported to the FDA 24 hours before arrival at a U.S. port or they will be denied entry and detained at the port of entry.
The FDA only requires registration, not certification. There is no FDA registration certificate. If the product is registered with the FDA, a registration number will be issued. the FDA will give the applicant a response (signed by the FDA Administrator), but there is no FDA certificate statement.
5, FCC certification (U.S. Federal Communications Commission) was established in 1934, is an independent agency of the U.S. Government, directly accountable to Congress. FCC coordinates domestic and international communications through the control of radio, television, telecommunications, satellites and cable. For more than 50 U.S. states, Columbia, and the District of Columbia, the FCC's Office of Engineering and Technology is responsible for the Commission's technical support as well as equipment approvals in order to ensure the safety of radio and wireline communications products related to life and property. Many radio applications, communications products, and digital products require FCC approval if they are to enter the U.S. marketplace. The FCC Commission investigates and researches all phases of product safety to find the best way to resolve problems. Also, the FCC includes testing of radio equipment and airplanes. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) - Regulates the importation and use of radio frequency equipment, including computers, fax machines, electronic equipment, radio receiving and transmitting equipment, radio-controlled toys, telephones, personal computers, and other products that may be hazardous to personal safety. If these products are to be exported to the U.S., they must be tested and approved by a government-authorized laboratory according to FCC technical standards. The importer and customs agent shall declare that each RF device complies with the FCC standards, i.e., the FCC license.
