In foreign trade, one party to the transaction wants to sell or buy a certain commodity, ask the other party to buy and sell the commodity of the transaction conditions, this oral or written expression, in the import and export business is called inquiry or inquiry.

The inquiry is generally divided into two kinds:

1) General inquiry: this inquiry does not necessarily involve a specific transaction, generally belong to the general understanding.
