What is the tracking inspection method

Tracking inspection method is the most important inspection method of hospital level assessment, the assessor evaluates the quality and service of each department and link of the medical organization by tracking the whole medical process of a single patient. The reviewer mainly utilizes the methods of reviewing medical records, interviewing medical staff, and interviewing patients and their families to carry out the tracking inspection.

Tracking example: The reviewer selects an eligible patient - Mr. Wu - from among the inpatients according to what needs to be known. This patient is a postoperative heart bypass patient with postoperative complications of pneumonia. By reviewing the chart, the reviewer learns that the patient has been through five departments: emergency, catheterization, operating room, ICU, and ward. First, the reviewer went to the emergency department and asked the receiving medical staff: How did you assess Mr. Wu's condition when he came to the clinic? How did you choose the treatment process for him? How did you communicate with him? What was the order of his medication? What are your titles and years of experience? ...; When you arrive at the catheterization room, you will ask the medical staff: How do you hand over this patient to the emergency room? How do you give informed consent before imaging? How do you control infection? Is the person who performs the imaging examination qualified and how is he/she authorized? How is the equipment used and maintained? ...; later visit operating rooms, ICUs, wards and other units in turn, through interviews with medical staff (and will combine the interviews with medical records and patient interviews to confirm their authenticity), and even track down the relevant functional departments. Understanding and evaluating the overall quality of hospital services; evaluating the overall consistency of hospital services; evaluating the quality of the service process in the treatment of patients, environmental facilities, whether to pay attention to patient safety, rights and interests, and the protection of privacy, and the control of hospital infections; evaluating the degree of compliance with the standards and key points of the hospital accreditation, i.e., evaluating the implementation of the rules and regulations of the hospital, the system, the process, the diagnostic and treatment routines and procedures by the personnel of the hospital in various departments. The evaluation of the hospital's compliance with the accreditation standards and key points
