2. Zheng He's voyage to the West
Zheng He's voyage to the West refers to the Ming emperor Zhu Di ordering Zheng He, the eunuch of Sanbao, to anchor from Liujiagang in Taicang (now Liuhe Town, Taicang City, Jiangsu Province), and led more than 2 seagoing ships and more than 27, people to visit more than 3 countries and regions including the Indian Ocean in the western Pacific Ocean. He has been to Java, Sumatra, Sulu, Pahang, Zhenla, Guri, Siam, and so on.
Zheng He's voyage to the Western Seas was the largest and longest voyage in China in ancient times, with the largest number of ships (more than 24) and the largest number of sailors. It was several decades earlier than that of European countries, which directly reflected the prosperity of the Ming Dynasty. Zheng He's voyage far surpassed that of navigators from Portugal, Spain and other countries for nearly a century, such as Magellan, Columbus, Da Gama and others. He was the pioneer of the "Great Navigation Age" and the only oriental. He even put forward the sea power theory 5 years earlier than Mahan, and it is said that Zheng He first discovered America, Australia and Antarctica.
