What is the category of senior care equipment in Macau

Medical equipment.

According to the official website of the National Development and Reform Commission of the People's Republic of China (NDRC), the "Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao Exploring Paths to "Cross-border Elderly Care" in the Greater Bay Area" shows that elderly care equipment belongs to a category of medical devices in Macao. Medical devices refer to instruments, equipment, appliances, materials or other items used for the purposes of diagnosis, treatment, prevention, rehabilitation or contraception of the human body. Elderly equipment refers to intelligent devices used for purposes such as life care, health monitoring, emergency call and intelligent assistance for the elderly. According to the regulations of the Health Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, medical devices are categorized into four risk classes, namely Class I (low risk), Class II (medium risk), Class III (high risk) and Class IV (highest risk). Medical devices of different risk classes have different requirements and specifications for importation, sale and use. The risk class of a senior care device depends specifically on factors such as its function, structure, principle and use. Generally speaking, the risk level of elderly devices is low, and most of them belong to Class I or Class II. For example, home health testing equipment such as blood pressure monitors, blood glucose meters, thermometers, etc. usually belong to Class I4 ; emergency call equipment such as smart watches, smart bracelets, smart pagers, etc. usually belong to Class II. However, there are some senior living devices that have a higher risk level and may fall into Class III or IV, such as health all-in-one devices like electrocardiographs and oximeters.
