Nursing education is to implement the education and health work policies, cultivate nursing workers with excellent skills, good health, good medical ethics, and serve the people's health wholeheartedly.

In the early days of liberation, there were only more than 30,000 nurses in the country. After more than 30 years of training, the number had increased to 17 times in 1983. According to domestic conditions, nursing education can be divided into four types: technical secondary schools, universities, junior college training and further education. 3 Technical secondary education

After liberation, the Ministry of Health established a secondary professional textbook compilation committee. In 1956, it organized the preparation of teaching plans for each major and the syllabus of each course. Since then, there has been a unified teaching basis for secondary nursing majors across the country. Over the past 30 years, the teaching materials have been revised several times, and the teaching quality has gradually improved. Technical technical nursing schools recruit junior high school or high school graduates, and the duration of study is 2 to 3 years. The curriculum is divided into three types: general courses, basic medical courses and professional courses. The focus of nursing education is to vigorously develop technical secondary education and train nurses as soon as possible, so that there are enough qualified personnel to complete nursing work in medical institutions with high quality, and to enable nurses to go into society and serve the most people. 4 University Education

Before liberation, Peking Union Medical College reached an agreement with five universities including Yanjing University to transfer 2-year-old students from the pre-nursing departments of the schools of science of the five universities to the nursing major of the hospital for 2 and a half years. After that, you return to the university to study for half a year. When you graduate, you can obtain a professional degree, a university diploma and a bachelor's degree. After liberation, due to the large demand for doctors, the specialty department was closed in 1952 and students transferred to the undergraduate medical program. From 1961 to 1965, Beijing Second Medical College had a nursing department, which was closed in 1966. From now on, there will only be technical secondary school nurse education in China. Recently, Tianjin Medical College has established a five-year nursing class in the medical department; Shanghai First Medical College and Beijing and other health cadre training colleges have established 2 to 3-year specialized courses, and higher nursing education has been established again. Taking the five-year teaching plan (draft) as an example, the number of courses is more than that of technical secondary schools, including medical ethics, psychology, education, nutrition, basics of diagnosis, nursing research design and statistics, nursing management, and emergency medicine. and nursing, traditional Chinese medicine nursing, public health nursing, medical sports, and improve foreign language proficiency and specialist nursing levels. After graduation, students can teach in nursing schools at all levels, hold administrative management or specialist nursing positions in medical institutions, or engage in scientific research to promote the development of the nursing discipline.

5 Specialty training

Organize on-the-job nursing staff to learn new theories and new nursing techniques in a certain specialty. The academic length can be set from 6 months to 1 year. For example, study courses for administration, education, psychology, scientific research and design, critical care, organ transplant surgery nursing, and nursing teachers are held. After learning, the courses can be used in practice and improve the quality of work. Since 1978, the provincial, municipal and autonomous regional branches of the Chinese Nursing Association have assisted the health department in doing a lot of training work. Trained staff play an important role in administration and specialist nursing. 6 Continuing education (continuing education)
