The Antonov Design Bureau of the Soviet Union was created in 1946 and named after the famous aircraft designer Antonov.
While Antonov was in charge of the bureau, he led the design of the An 10 Ukrainian jumbo jet, the An 8, An 12, An 22, An 26, An 32, An 72, and An 124 military transport aircraft, the An 2, An 14, and An 28 multi-purpose transports, the An 24 passenger aircraft, and the all-metal glider An 11, An 13, An 15 and other famous airplanes.
After the 1960s, the Antonov Bureau shifted its main focus to the development of medium-sized transport aircraft, and successively developed the following main models: An 10, An 12, An 24, An 26, An 72, An 74, and other medium-sized transport aircraft and their modifications. The An22 "Antai" and An124 "Ruslan" heavy transports (these have already been mentioned above). In addition, there is the An 225, which until now was one of the world's heaviest and longest-flying airplanes.
